1. Introduction

One hundred, hm? One hundred,
Get a mind wrapped round one hundred.

One hundred scritch-scratched letters,
One hundred uttered words,
One hundred skimmed sentences,
One hundred pages spurned.

One hundred lives imagined,
One hundred tales unwound,
One hundred people met,
One hundred people drowned.

One hundred varied backdrops,
One hundred colored paints.
One hundred bright sceneries,
One hundred whited blanks.

One hundred? Yes, one hundred,
Here’s to starting my one hundred.
