it all began with rocks

it all began with rocks

A Poem by RuseInex

it all began with the rocks

they were always there

same kind found on all planetary earths

throughout the universe

they arose from nothing

the rocks

created other rocks in their own image,

boulders, stones, pebbles,

and the lowly sand they too,

made from lowly dust

to them, a caste lower than human

the asteroids decried,

denied they were created by rocks,

they rose aloft into orbital flight,

mavericks, proclaiming themselves

masters of their own fate

shunning the comets,

those heavenly harbingers

made of dust and ice

rocks begat rocks over millennia,

so goes their story of creation

matter arose with and by the rocks

the rocks developed math,

music, art, and science,

easy tasks for them,

being as that intelligence arose from them

they used things called humans to pave their roads

and build themselves walls

I love your description and imagery on these words. I can clearly see them in my mind.

What a great imagination in this Rusel. You have used plenty of artistic licence here but that's what poetry is for. As a race we definitely need the bigger picture and that's what you've given us

An interesting and creative write. Yes those rocks, there before us and everything else. What a story they would have to tell if they could talk and if they also had the power of sight.

thanks for taking the time to read and comment Christine Anne Shaw
Really enjoyed this. Imagine the untold stories in the rocks.
Geologists piece bits together but it's just a small small piece of understanding where we came from
