irish green

irish green

A Poem by RuseInex

blimey,
the magic of an irish jig an’ song
mixed with english ale an’ joy

metallic green filled with light
the smile of an angel an’ pure love
you give me shelter and ivory pipe
unblemished love an’ guts

no one can take you down in right
your raw strength of will,
fill the air
in cold gale an’ icy wind
you don’t easy lay down

sweet pipers an’ lassie lace
fire an’ ice you slay the wrong
no fool can stand against you

the beauty of your lace
metallic green seamed
with glowing white
reflecting right
you put the fool in his place

bring on your glorious drums
your red flaming hair
and bring down injustice
God is your strength

bring out your pipes and play us a song
your green set eyes
mixed in cream of hands
set on royal satin white

strum your strings
bring in your sweet
your tender side of love
play yer gold violin
an’ dance on the shimmering green
