Is it True?

Is it True?

A Poem by RyanRey
"

The narrator questions the existence of someone, or something, who has been living since the beginning of time.

"

Is it true, what they say,

That you’ve walked for so long, for so many lives,

That even the most hidden paths, the most,

Ancient passages

Have felt the soles of your feet stir

And press deep into their soil,

Is it true?

Is it true, what they say,

Have you heard for so many years, that the sweet,

Sound of the songbird can no longer soothe you?

That you’ve heard the harps of angels, their notes fluttering down

From Heaven, and still,

Your ears are not impressed,

Is it true?

Is it true, what they say,

That you no longer open your eyes, for

The world has nothing left worth seeing, that you’ve

Seen all there is to see, heard all there is to hear,

And is it true that you have felt everything?

Is it?

Is it true?

And if it is,

Than how is it, that you cannot hear it?

How can you not hear the music in her words,

Nor the song of passion rising up from her chest,

From the warmth of her heart,

And how can you not hear the symphony of life,

Flowing out of her every action?

How is it, that you have taken every step

That has ever been taken, and still,

You have never been as happy on a path,

As I am now, nor have you ever stopped

And stood perfectly still,

perfectly silent,

And wished to never take another step,

For in that moment, everything was enough.

And if you’ve felt everything,

Than how is it, that you have seen the spark of creation,

And still, you have never beheld a light as bright as I have

When I look into her eyes, and in them discover a whole new existence

Nor have you ever seen rays as blinding as those coming from

Her smile, that smile that it almost inseparable from mine,

For without her’s, mine does not exist.

It is true, what they say?

That you have felt everything there is to feel?

For if you had, than why is it that you can’t hear

The things that I hear, see the things that I see,

Or feel as I feel?

Is it true, what I ask,

Have you not discovered it, this whole time?

Have you not found the purpose yet,

after all these years?

Is it true, what I ask?

Have you not been in love?

Is it true?

I knew almost from the beginning this was not about God. And I don't know if it's true r not, but it sparks my imagination...what if there is one who has walked the earth forever, doomed (by some sin) never to enjoy its pleasures...?

there is a message in there. but there are questions that you have to answer for yourself. I like the way this elicits my thoughts, it seemed to start to be about God but toward the end it does not seem to be. If the ending is about God, my response would be that we are His love.
This poem caught my eye, it called me and i enjoyed it. I pray you find your answers as i know this has a little piece of you.......
Beautiful, thanks for sharing...
