effing the ineffable

effing the ineffable

A Poem by Alicante lullaby
"

discussing poetry on a first date.

"

I told him

if I could steal three

words from a poet,

they would most certainly be

''ineffable effable

effanineffable.''

Perhaps Eliot just wanted

to blurt out a loud ''F**k you'' publically.

Flustered,he looked around at the rest

of diners,fished me another chunk

of pineapple from his Tutti Fruitti

and then trying hard to change the topic

asked simply

''Do you like your ice cream''.

This is so wry, so clever...it's light, yes, but not light-weight.
