what you see

what you see

A Poem by S.E. Conway

scars are what you see
tears are what you see
bones are what you see
what your staring at is me

cursing is what you hear
crying is what you hear
screaming is what you hear
what your hearing is me again

bruises are what you feel
broken pieces are what you feel
shaking in fear is what you feel
thats my past your feeling now

you hear about my past, about my fears, about my anger

you see me fighting strong, crying hard, frantically struggling all along

you feel my shaking, quivering, sweating with tears

you feel my terror, my love for you, my past let loose

you know me in all these ways
but you still don't know all of the truth
