if i could talk to god

if i could talk to god

A Poem by S.E. Conway

if i could talk to god

i'd ask him why

i do so much

so little

how i know so much

and reap so little

why when i go to sleep

i cry at night

"i'm not like other girls"

why guys see me as

some odd far away person from reality

doing so much

asking for so little

for doing for the sake of doing

why i'm such a selfless person

the adverage woman

why no one understands me

why i love to work

why i like to love others

to treat them better than i do myself

why io am so missunderstood

why i'm the way i am

one day i'll ask

one day we'll talk

until that day

all i ask is not 'why' but 'now what'

Even if you never speak those words, God still hears you. He listens to your heart, and the heart is where God leaves the answers to your questions. Search your heart.

Some used to say to me that I don't love them, I love being in love. The truth was I wanted Love and we just didn't work together. I figured it out eventually. Man, have I walked in some of your words. This one could use some edits. "foR so little" and "doing for the sake of doing " without "for" at the start (I think it flows better). I used to wonder too why "friends" behaved this way when I realised I never really told them what I really thought, because I thought for sure they'd reject me. So they did reject me never actually knowing me, nor I them. Human folly. So well cried out in exhaustion here to a god without a capital. Impressive emotional focus. A rant that many will relate to who are aged to perfection wayyyy before their time.

I can honestly say I had the same thoughts when I was a teenager, and I guess I still do (at 29). At least we're not alone in this world, eh.

But, I do like the brevity and clarity of this. You express yourself with simplicity and sometimes that is the easiest way to let us see into your soul.

Nice job.

This is beautiful SE! This piece really reveals so much about who you are as a person. The candidness of this write is alluring because many are able to relate to it. The depth of your heart shows here and what a marvelous blessing when shallowness can be the order of the day. Great write, my friend....and thank you for your reviews. I always appreciate you stopping by my little corner of the cafe and saying "Hello!"

I love these God talks. They are so revealing and real. I've written a few myself. They can be really helpful in understanding something that is beyond understanding. Your real heart comes out. Anyone who says they have no doubts worries me. To have doubt shows your humanness; your fraility, your depth as a human. Some of these personal conversations can be funny. I'm not afraid to reveal my ignorance. Great piece. Rain..
