The Day Before

The Day Before

A Poem by Sarah

She didn’t know she she’d learn she’s pregnant

She didn’t know she’d lose her best friend

In a terrible accident

She went to sleep that night praying in the usual way

Not asking for anything, but to wake up the next day

Getting together with family and friends

Sharing life’s highs and lows, every now and then

Adrenaline running through our veins

He works it out, on His time, in His way

Seeing what the future holds with a blind fold on

Is what happened the day before

He didn’t know he’d get the job

He didn’t know he’d find his wife cheating

With his best friend

He went for a walk that night, praying in the usual way

Not asking for anything, but to wake up the next day

Getting together with family and friends

Sharing life’s highs and lows, every now and then

Adrenaline running through our veins

He works it out, on His time, in His way

Seeing what the future holds with a blind fold on

Is what happened the day before

We didn’t know what would happen today,

But when we woke up, we found out

By living it

We don’t know what will happen tomorrow

It’s the day before

Songs make more sense when their accompanied by the music, and as much as I like the story and the lyrics, I really need to hear it to feel it. But as mentioned before: your writing is grand. Well done!
