Devil's Prerogative

Devil's Prerogative

A Poem by S. Janszen

Follow me down
To the underground
With the pain and the tears and the death

Give me your soul
I won't make you whole
You'll live and you'll never have breath

Take my disease
Embrace agony
Exist evermore within darkness

Come you are shunned
By the righteous one
Never will you gain forgiveness

A very intentionally depressive poem, not the usual sad optimism I see in your poetry. Its complemented well by vocabulary which invokes a feeling of subterranean heat: devil indeed.
