We all hear ghost stories

But what happens when the ghost in those stories are us?

When we are the ghosts forgotten in time

And the only way we’re remembered

Are by the stories people tell about us

What do we do when those stories change with time?

And all you hear are mostly lies?

But what do we do

When we hear the little truth entwined within those lies that people say

What do you do when you’re powerless and the only thing people see?

Are the fainted shadows of what you use to be?

And what do you do when you’re misunderstood?

When no one understands

When everything just seems to be fading

And you just walk through walls that are slowly caving

What happens when we are the ghosts wondering aimlessly?

Looking for the light that will call us home

The light that will let us go

Isn’t there

We all hear ghost stories

But we all seem to forget

That the people in those stories

Could just as easily

Be us
