Butterflies and Lovers

Butterflies and Lovers

A Poem by RHEA CROSLEY
"

Using different names of butterflies that are growing in number in south U.K. I weave them into a garden where two lovers plan.

"

Is your garden desirous does it make one feel chipper.
Does it draw attention to the beautiful silver spotted skipper.

Can it be a place of love for a Lady and her fellow.
Would you find dancing within it  a clouded Yellow.

Upon a flower does he stand beside her like Gabriel.
And with that flower would it draw to it a red admiral.

Does she stand beside him with love till eighty.
Would you find fluttering out side a jealous painted lady.

Does her spirit fly higher then a geese flock.
Does her garden bring in such beauty as the peacock.

Has she understanding to know greatness of what true love can do.
Will her garden feel the flutter of the chalkhill blue.

Very very creative ! I enjoyed the combination of love and nature.

Does she stand beside him with love till eighty.
Would you find fluttering out side a jealous painted lady.

These lines stuck out for me. The way that this was written allows everyone to take something different from it. I really liked this one a lot .

very, very good choice of words. it creates a wonderful, romantic atmosphere, while saying good wisdom on love. you possess a good control with the words and that is very admirable :) thanks for sharing

What a lovely way to express the two sides of love. Butterflies! And how interesting to choose the names of some. I really like this Rhea. Not too fluffy with alot of words, yet just a wee bit of rhyming to make it interesting and lovely. Nice!

Very clever Rhea, you know your butterflies! And you know how to weave a loaded question. You have done extremely well with this, it is difficult to rhyme proficiently at the best of times, but to incorporate that with the Butterfly names is an achievement of some proportion.
Nicely done and thumbs up from me...
Helen :-)
