ALL OF OUR YESTERDAYS

ALL OF OUR YESTERDAYS

A Poem by Dave

ALL OF OUR YESTERDAYS

Think of this trading of

 eyes and flesh and bone

for something new.

Did you think that you had

 all of the tomorrows

That all of your yesterdays

 were not a miracle

entrusted to you.

Consider the new borne cry

and of all between

do you think them by chance.

What of the tears shed

 by those left behind

as you step from this light

into the next

 does their love matter less.

Was it all just a dream

that was lived in a blink of an eagle’s eye.

Was your life for not

or was it a gift given to

You.
