He

He

A Poem by Sally

He builds me up,
My heart so full.
He breaks me down,
My heart so empty.
He betrays me once again.
His eyes always glued to the other girl.
I try to pretend that I don't notice,
But I do.
I do.
I do.
Every time I see them,
my heart drops.
The smile drips off my face.
I look away and frown in a joking way.
We sit next to each other at the lunch tables.
I'm smiling and happy.
Then she comes and barges in.
She splits us up and thinks nothing of it.
I sigh and move over to make way for her.
I hated her with every fiber of my being.
There was no room at that table anyways.
I end up eating with my lunch box in my lap because there is no room.
In what ever time, he lays on a couch.
I try to talk to him,
but she once again
barges in.
I hated her with every fiber of my being.
I need her to stop.
Because I need him.
I love him.
I love him.
Please,
Please,
Please.
He builds me up,
My heart so full.
He breaks me down,
My heart so empty.

wow. this is hard to even give this review. it brings back painful memories. This is my freaking 8th grade year on rewind. I guess I never thought another human being could be going through what i did. It still hurts and It will hurt for a while but it will get better. In the years to come he'll look at you and smile. and you'll know. This sounds crazy now but it won't be for long. Great Work. Very Impressive.
