I Am Scared

I Am Scared

A Chapter by Sanguine

Mother,

I wish that I could talk for long but I just cannot. For such a calm, peaceful village things have really been shaken up. Soldiers came and took one of the young boys for supposedly sneaking out after curfew.

Mother, I knew him. His name was James, or Little Jimi. The executed him for a crime I know he did not commit, I know it.

I am scared. He was only Elizabeth’s age. How could those soldiers do such a thing to an innocent child? His parents were different, yes, they were. But that is no excuse for a child to be punished under false charges.

You know as well as I do, Mother, that sound carries so easily throughout our village. If Little Jimi was out late everyone would know it. But they said a soldier had spotted him and punishment must be met.

I am scared.

What a twist! A nice addition, I can feel the tension rising as the letters progress.

Note:
"The executed him for a crime [...]" I believe "The" is suppose to by "They".
