In 'his' society!

In 'his' society!

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"
"

For a recent case- in- Guwahati and Delhi-India

"

Her ‘mother’ blessed her

For the wonderful day

And 'She' marched ahead

Climbed the lofty height

Where no men could reach

And sprinkled the euphoria

With her sacred beam

Whilst,

With his own rules, he created

He woke up late!

With no sign of sigh

Proud, he stands

With an attitude "

‘Man of himself’

He made his own day!

[Juxtaposed!]

He made his nights,

Drenched it with liquors

But still, pompously

He reaches home,

Safe!

Despite the thirst,

For a single drop of water,

She runs to home,

Before the darkness engulfs the city

But she never returns!

The blossom of future, thus

Plucked down-

Crumples on the dust

And disappears-

Society claps,

The bees, hence, rewarded!

For, you are in

No-women-land!

Built your own shelter

For your own safety

Beware Women!

Unfortunately,

You are in ‘his’ society!

when u r at the lofty height n sprinkling the euphoria....
when u r coming to home ....
transform your sacred beam in to a sword ....
slain the goons in the way to home.....

P.S.-- safety !!!...only, when u r capable to attack....or u r not worth enough to be attacked by someone.

I hardly know how to respond- this is powerful! "the blossom of the future thus plucked down" Sometimes I believe there is a world wide holocaust on women, and your poem brings it to a very personal level. Thank you for sharing your gift.

Poems- are the voice of those who fearless. Thank you :) for the review.
This is a sad but tellin g poem... a feminist plea, and well-crafted complaint about male selfishness... It had a power in its words...

Thanks Moon.
An expression on equality between the sexes that is brave for having got started but lacks the refinement for clear and coherent communication of ideals.
