A Nighttime DandyA Poem by Saraa bit o' nonsenseA Nighttime Dandy On my way to Bell Gardensa constellation took my hand, kissed it, and asked me to dance. My cerebellum cycled through solar fusion to lacquered jazz, a Japanese sax accompanying our futuristic jaunt, forever postulating my Nabokian moves. A galleria of galaxies... Imaginary numbers jitterbugging through my illiterate mind -- Spin me again, Johnny Six, to that jujitsu jive! Today we craft a new religion, Postdiluvian, worshipping Rosetti and dark chocolate, zealots before idols scattering white roses over Orion's nose, making him sneeze stars across the universe. When I slip another quarter into the jukebox, they hum along quietly, their arms too long to care. © 2011 Sara |
