A Nighttime Dandy

A Nighttime Dandy

a bit o' nonsense

A Nighttime Dandy
On my way to Bell Gardens
a constellation took my hand,

kissed it,

and asked me to dance.

My cerebellum
cycled through solar fusion

to lacquered jazz,
a Japanese sax accompanying
our futuristic jaunt,

forever postulating my Nabokian moves.

A galleria of galaxies...

Imaginary numbers jitterbugging through my illiterate mind --
Spin me again, Johnny Six, to that jujitsu jive!

Today we craft a new religion,
Postdiluvian,
worshipping Rosetti and dark chocolate,

zealots before idols
scattering white roses over Orion's nose,

making him sneeze stars across the universe.

When I slip another quarter into the jukebox,
they hum along quietly,

their arms
too
long
to care.

Hi! I'm just a simple college student from Texas who enjoys storytelling in all its forms. I'm quite shy, so I find writing much easier than talking since I don't have to put up with my usual stutteri.. more..
