Gargoyle

Gargoyle

A Poem by Sazaku
"

"
These words that rage inside my chest
would gladly bite your naively profferred hand.
But these vile lips of mine are sealed shut;
my vigilant mind won't so easily be swayed.
And for now, that's probably for the best.
I want to confide in you, I really do.
But better than anyone, I know not to trust
these treasonous thoughts that leap from my tongue.
The wounds they score in my calcified flesh, I'll survive.
I fear they'd slice like knives through you.
Long-since numbed, these nerves of stone,
to an infernal pain I pray you never know.
It scalds the mind and chills the soul,
and I simply refuse to be the one to show you,
and taint forever the halls of your hallowed shrine.
