Lamentation of A Butterfly

This is the poem that was published for my Campus's Press. This in my opinion and in the opinion of others is my magnum opus

"Lamentation of a Butterfly"

The butterfly with pink and purple
Wings died from the smog of society
She was just flying around aimlessly
Treasured by none, ignored by all

The Butterfly contained the tenderness
Of a child, laced with innocence
She smelled of a strawberry breeze
The wales greeted her on the warf

Absent of the lurid presence
Of a dung fly, the butterfuly
Enchanted the grounds she breezed
Free of malady and disease

She was dismantled from wing
To wing by the puissant smoke
That pulled her apart, like beef
Dividing among carniviores, asphyxiated

She was a prestine purveyor--
Of flawlessness and gradient grace
The butterfly dropped on the ground
Like a pin sinking in water

Nobody knew she dissolved
With the grapevine, or discovered
She'd ever existed, yet they persisted
On taking this butterfly for granted

Hello Mike
I really liked your poetic verses here for the Butterfly. The eloquent flow of your words also speak some truths the peril of the beauty.
Very Nice Read-TY
