Abrasive Flowers

Abrasive Flowers

A surreal poem. The star poem of my first book of the same name

“Abrasive Flowers”

The sun was shown immaculately
Like a first child being born

I’m a chimpanzee skipping on a vernal
Afternoon soaking in the golden rays

Life is a reemerging émigré who ran
From a nation of turmoil, exalted

By the smell of blooming blueberries
Enthralled by marshmallow souls;

Gilding in the wind melodiously
The sunsets miraculously, then

Scenes of murders appear, bombs
Are dropping like rain, the lilac sky

Is shifting to black; the air thickens
My breaths grow faint, it’s raining

Nuclear bombs, panic fills the streets

In a moment of catastrophic catharsis

Abrasive flowers are spewing blood

My how moments change within

A single mundane breath of city smog

The war of minds has commenced

marshmallow souls, eh? i like that. sadly, this reminds me of i guess the war... or war in general these days. or the way people's priorities have shifted from the earth the the self, and not in a good way... in a selfish, destructive way.

very well done.

hugs
