Oh Love!

My love that I lost, 
To the time that was,
My love that I wish, 
was with me when my want, 
my need for it was,
the most intense and elevated, 
to the point I'd detest,
to the point I'd abhor. 

The gaps in time
that don't seem to fill, 
and the silences,
in my head, all go shrill, 
I wish i could live 
in the here and now, 
when all that i want is go back
in time somehow.

I walk alone, 
with nothing to flaunt, 
and I walk alone, 
with no hand to hold,
and I walk alone,
in the world outside, 
and I walk alone in the rains,
the mist and the sunshine.

The present rushes by, 
The past never gone, 
The future I had dreamt of, 
ruined by the unknown,
Every day goes by, 
my dreams run over, 
by the brutalities and the scorn, 
and i stand and loathe, 
every moment forlorn . 

My love that I lost, 
To misgivings my own, 
My love that I wish, 
I would have been there for, 
when its need for me, 
as deep as mine was, 
to the point it hated, 
the reality that blurred, 
the aberration I was!
