The hunger

The hunger

A Poem by Rivaxorus
"

hunger

"
I was sitting on the edge of that cliff today
Thinking about it
The adventures that coax me in
The stories that pull me out

I was sitting on the edge  of my bed,
Wanting more,
And more
And so I traveled

Across the land
With my pen
Creating stories
That popped out the page

There were knights
And dragons
Kings and Queens
Lovers and Rivals all alike

Nearing the last sentence
It rang to me
My stomach began to yell
"Feed me"

Been there. Locked in the box flying upwards in the hurricane of thoughts and words. Only able to return back to earth, to sense the emergency of our bodily needs, left wondering what would truly happen if we broke the chains that hold us to our own mortality and flew off with our passions.

I admit, I had a chuckle or two at the end of your poem, but really, you were talking about a hunger all the way through. I really enjoyed the journey.

Excellent, I just went through this.
Can't say I saw your ending coming which was awesome. This is very solid in my opinion. I felt like I was right there with you reveling in a book or poem, something so powerful i couldn't put it down. Beautiful as usual Seimei.

We must nourish our hearts, minds and spirits as well as our bodies. Sometimes one must be starved for the other's sake...which is why they have fasting in certain religious belief systems. But I always write better after I'm fed. ;o)

A very sattirical look into the mind of the writer a though we all share, well done, good read.

That's hilarious. I like how it's super poetic and filled with imagery and then it shows how your body processes take over. It's such a true statement, it is difficult to work with an empty stomach.
