Interview with the Mortician

Interview with the Mortician

A Poem by Sel Sense
"

'before death calls...'

"
Last night i prepped a day old baby
It had only 24 hours to know its mum and dad vaguely
the mortician cried

Until men are faced with their mortality
They never perceive death a reality
Strutting in bold arrogance, others dazed as if in a trance
They never know what life is worth, till death cashes in their breathe
How i wish every once in a while, the living will stop and pass by
And glimpse at them that have now become just a memory
the mortician lamented

No one is really ever ready, truth be told
So if you are another day old
Remember death will come knocking at your door
Ask yourself, how will i answer its call
If needs be, make amends with your Maker
And try to live life a little better
Cos like that little baby who is gone
Death will come to us all

the mortician walked away
