Teddy Bear

Teddy Bear

A Poem by Karen Flores

The twinkles in his eyes sparkled so bright.

Were so strong; even brighter than the sun's light.

He connected his eyes to mine like glue.

We connected alright; who knew?

His smile was like the rainbow after a rainy day.

So colorful and loving like spring in May.

His voice was softer than a melody to fall asleep.

Candy turned bitter; now he was the only sweet.

His lips were like a cherry and strawberry combined into one.

They even tasted like it; that flavor stayed, never gone.

His touch felt as if a stuffed animal was suffocating me with a hug.

It was safe, caring, unique, cuddly and full of love.

You may wonder why this sounds like the past.

Sadly everything ends; this love didn't last.
