Tandem

Tandem

A Poem by Seriana

Tandem

everything I have of “you”,

everything I believe of “you”

resides with hope inside my amber being…

wishing…

wanting through the void of this space for the love,

unconditional,

that not all will find.

a longing so painfully acute ,

it grabs on like mycelium,

spreading through the network of my energy-being

with a latch-hold that will never release….

this yearning is what I have,

of “you”,

what I want,

of “you”,

yet,

not really…”you”…

There are no fancy frills to the obvious nature of my desire.

It is merely the theme to the core of my Amber being,

a mellow, reciprocated love,

infinitely.

The way the yearning for the undefined "you" is depicted is so accurate it's almost too much to bear. I especially like the part where you use the words "theme...of my being," because it suggests the all-consuming nature of the desire for "you." This poem made me shiver - in a good way.

This feels like unconditional love that for what ever reason can’t not be together.

Thank you PB.
I can't help but to read "you" as being this person's own self. Finding/developing self-love that sticks like glue is a huge challenge for most people. Many go along thinking some other person, a partner or friend, will define them as being more "whole" . . . but I submit that we must already be whole before true love can begin to flourish. I love that this is written open-ended so anyone can read anything into it . . . God being my second choice for "you"! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you Margie! What a humble and different interpretation :) Love it!
Wow, I know this feeling. nicely penned!
I also feel in this , there is an tiny aspect in the hope a slight fear that the "you" may not be able to meet exact expectations. It may be in my mind. A soul mate is very hard to find indeed. When you feel it , you will know it. So I hear.

So I hear, too. Thank you for your thoughts on this one. They mean alot. :)
The term "amber being" occurs twice in the poem, the second time in boldface letters, so it must have a specific meaning, though I can't tell what it is. The speaker seems to long for a special "unconditional" love that will last infinitely. A tall order, that. Such a love would be nice, but sometimes an enduring friendship holds up longer.

And that mellow, reciprocated love, unconditional love is rare. It is more prevalent the way women love their children, but I find unconditional love between two adults is not an easy find. It is a treasure, and if you come across it, then you should consider yourself most fortunate. Like your train of thought and expression here Seriana.

A treasure indeed, Chris. One that I wish for every soul out there, however it might come. Thank you.. read more

You are most welcome :)
The word "unconditional" seemed to burn itself into my mind as I read your thoughts. How many truly have ever found such love... infinite love given and taken... a love that transforms us within and without? And how many honestly seek to give such love... to give even when it may not be fully returned in kind? Your soul writes of the deep, hidden spaces few ever wander. So powerful.

I get this. Well written. I'm glad this is written in a non specific way. I have someone in mind for this in my own situation no doubt. All of us likely do. ,🙂

The need, the desire to be loved is so strongly prevalent in this. The willingness to give so much of it in the hope of getting something back in return. I can almost see and feel the tears.

Take care - Dave - pleaseeeee.
