The Human Pendulum

The Human Pendulum

A Chapter by Shade Teller

Not here to measure time,
Not for anyone to notice,
I,the human pendulum,

Passing time away,
Swinging back and forth,
I, the rotten human pendulum.

Time now all decay,
Buzzard eating flesh,
I, the human pendulum.

Time, now all gone,
from off my bone,
I, the wasted human pendulum,
a hung person,
a hanging skeleton,
The human pendulum.

I like how you use the pendulum in this poem. You create a interesting point of view. When I was young. I wanted to be dead before my body got weak. 39 year and be done. Now two grand kids give me hop and energy. The human pendulum is a odd one. Never know when death will come a-calling. A excellent poem. Thank you.
