Motels

Motels

A Poem by Kelsie Stoner

Pull the net over your eyes
Lipstick cigarettes
Champagne on silk ties
Outside the tuxedo t-shirts
Crush cans
Kick up the dirt
With stiletto heels
Taxi cab motel room
Romance on wheels
Steam on the windows
Matted fur
And ripped pantyhose
The night is young
And so naive
Tangled tongues
In the coat check
He takes tips
From the nape of your neck
Velvet ropes
Closed to the keeper
And he only hopes
He can be your ashtray
