Hello my friend, I have to say…

I’m thinking of you this Valentine’s Day…

 

A day set aside to celebrate love

Chocolates and flowers now symbols of…

I can send neither of these things to you

But let me tell you what it is I can do…

 

I can think of you and hold you near

Remember the times with you I hold dear

Cherish the memories we have shared

Honour the parts of our souls we bared

 

I can be grateful for your friendship and care

Feel the warmth of the connection we share

Treasure the love I feel for you…

And hope you feel the same way too

 

I wish you were closer and not so far away

There’s only so much that words can say…

I’d wrap my arms around you nice and snug

And give you a great big bear of a Valentine’s hug…

I too do not wish to show my love on valentine's day by showering them with cosmetic gifts, I agree that the true meaning to show your love is proving how you feel for that person without one dollar spent. A good poem with a great rhyme, suitable for any and every valentine's day :)
