Devil's Dance

Devil's Dance

A Poem by Shadows Ember

There's something about how we moved when we danced,
that brief sense of comfort, love, and ease.

Our dance flowed with passion and security,
though like a song, ended abruptly.

For the longest time,
we did not dance again.

The music has began to start back up,
that same ol' song.

And though I wish to leave the room,
there's a force not even God can stop.

And just like that,
my world goes spinning again.

Another really good and thought-provoking piece. Love how the last lines set off the whole thing.
You have a gift, but too bad (for the cafe) it's not a regular hobby.

The simplistic style allows a comforting tone which in turns makes me almost subject to the will of the writer and the poem ends abruptly making me beg for more.
