Dear Cousin

A poem I wrote in memory of my cousin who died on May 16th, 2009

The minutes pass slow

The days seem long

Breathing, living, going on

It all just feels wrong

 

I know we weren't that close

And we didn't talk much

But in my heart I loved you

And in my heart I trust

 

Though the tears may continue

And grief will carry on

I try to continue living

Peace from dusk to dawn

 

Though this may seem short

For I do not have much to say

Just know that I love you

And will always miss you, D.J.
