Best Friend Goals

Best Friend Goals

A Poem by Shanika Taylor

I always wanted a friend that would chase all my inner demons away,
Someone who always cared for me no matter how sad i felt.
Someone who didn't judge my weirdness or even try to change me.
Someone who understood a bit of my pain and made me feel normal.
I honestly did not know when I first met you that you would have been this special to me,
Or even that you would have become my favourite person of all time.
I never thought that those guy best friends i read about really existed,
And then i met you and realized that good guys still exist in this harsh world.
Whenever I am down or fall in a pit of depression,
You always find a way of lifting me out of it.
Whenever I have guy troubles you always give me great advise
And you never fail to listen to my crap; no matter how many times you hear it.
I honestly can't think of a better explanation
But that you are simply an angel with a halo shining bright,
With your caring heart and glowing light,
you never fail to bring joy to my life.
