Fade

Fade

A Poem by Shelby Noël
"

First piece of writing on the ZenWriter program, which I TOTALLY recommend. Enjoy xx

There's only so long you can wait before everything starts to fall apart.

The light in the memory dims. The dream fades. The pain subsides.

And what's left?

An image. One that's blurred at the edges and yellowed and curled up here and there.

What was once a vivid scene is left a fogged distortion.

The image may still be beautiful, but it doesn't hold the same emotional value it was created with. The shine is dulled and the spark is gone.

And all that's left is a bookmark in your past, reminding you it was real.
