Love Letters Unopened

A Poem by Shelly Braen

I sent it that August,
Not so long after,
I was not sure of,
Exactly what to say,
What could I say?
Not so long,
Not so far,
I still loved you,
I was sure,
I waited,
The days came,
The days went,
I waited,
Silence,
I sent it that September,
Oh happy news!
Things were changing,
I still missed you,
I dreamt of you,
I prayed to silent gods,
Worshiping the afternoon,
Hoping for post,
And another fortnight,
Come and gone,
Like the rest,
Silence,
Twice more I wrote,
Nothing still,
The afternoons,
I no longer waited,
Silence was all,
And all was done,
I wept my last,
And succumbed,
Thus neglegence,
Will be answered,
My answer is silence.

Very good work.. I enjoyed the flow of this, smooth and falls easily off the tongue.
Keep up the good work!!

Very good. It has a good point, it flowed well, and it said a lot in relatively few words. That's the best type of poetic work.
