Loneliness Sings

Loneliness Sings

A Poem by Laura

Sing a song for my lonely soul
A melody of memories abound
Floating, and gloating over my misery
And reminding my heart that I am alone.

Look into these eyes
They are dead now, no surprise…
Cold embers of ice
Frozen over once, now twice.

These words come from a tired soul
One that is older and colder now…
So with life taking its toll
I ask you to read them well.

Good-bye to love, to kindness, to friends
For everything wonderful inevitably ends.
Hello to my struggle, to fighting, to pain
For everything horrible is always the same…
