What's Normal?

What's Normal?

A Poem by Liam Riley

People say it's inappropriate
They say it's just not right
They frown and the point
Some tend to fright

When we go out
We get immature glares
We get nasty words
People's tempers flare

I don't understand
Why we must be 'normal'
We must be straight
Perfect and Formal

Hands will hold
Lips will touch
There's no different in gender
Or color, religion and such

We have grown in technology
We can kill each other in a million ways
Yet we must love in only one?
This is so sad to say

For now our lives
Are filled with old thoughts
Prejudice values
Inequality will be fought.

This is another great write.
It seems as though these days no one appreciates individuality.
I really liked this piece. It speaks volumes to a lot of things.

I adore this, I can't relate exactly, but this is what I fear will happen...

Great, true, and straight to the point.

I love this part "We have grown in technology
We can kill each other in a million ways
Yet we must love in only one?
This is so sad to say"

So True....
Why can't such a thing like this be accepted? I will never know.

A little too mainstream "I don't see why they hate us", but good nonetheless.
