Salt in the air& sand in my hait

A Poem by Shubham

This title is the same as the famous writing but it's not related to that

With great pleasure and joy,
I boarded a splendid ship.
I started hoping that it would,
Turn out to be a great trip.

Slowly slowly it started to move,
Away from the mainland shore.
As it travelled further away,
I became nervous more and more.

Soon after, there was nothing else,
But the gigantic ocean in sight.
There wasn't even a lighthouse,
To provide the guiding light.

Having said all this and more,
The ship was sailing really well.
Everything was nice and smooth,
No real need of an 'alarm bell'.

As I assumed that all was well,
There was some sort of a jinks.
All the people got to witness,
The way in which a ship sinks.

The panicked people started using,
The life boats one by one.
By the time, my turn came,
Unfortunately, there were none.

Later, I heard the captain saying,
"Come on, we have to flee !
Those of you who are left out,
Just quickly come with me".

After hearing this, my eyes lit up,
And my heart was full of hope.
I took a sigh of relief as I thought,
With this situation, now I can cope.

Swiftly, without wasting time,
I stepped into the captain's boat.
For a poison like that sinking ship,
It was the one and only antidote.

With feelings both good and bad,
We separated from that ship.
My worst nightmare became true,
It turned into a disastrous trip.

All that was pretty challenging,
And because of that I fell asleep.
When I woke up, I was confused,
Should I laugh? or should I weep?

I found myself lying down on a, Soft and a nice and a sandy beach.
A real nature's paradise it was,
As nature wasn't beyond my reach.

All alone, I was standing there,
But I was really not going to care.
As I was able to proudly say,
There's salt in air & sand in my hair.
