For Mozart

For Mozart

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Inky equations

set to note

with each perfect

quill stroke-

the Requim mass

you built for yourself

as you fell ill

into a limey pauper's grave

never again to be saved-

yet live on in eternal

Love

by those that hear

the Magic Flute,

Don Giovanni

and all those miraculous

compositions

penned without mistake

or remission

but straight from your head

'the noodle'

could not be mislead

instead

we have your graceful music

playing still

as was your will

when you placed heaven

upon the page

with quill.

How nice it would be, to live on, to create such, that out lasts our brief stay.
To have our, soul, continue to inspire, and to, embrace.
How surely nice, that would be, wouldn't it.
It starts one step at a time I guess.
Like how I won't forget your writing Sid.
And then the next generation,
and then the next...

May we all carve our initials on the tree of, eternity.

Keep doing what you're doing dear poet.
Remember, you're writing for the day after,
forever.

Just that hooked me! (Which was the point of course lol) I really liked this. It flowed nicely and captured a certain essence. Great job :]

Yes, I agree with the previous review, the opening and closing lines are great and the subject matter is divine.

( btw I also have written about Mozart's Requiem in one of my stories. )

I absolutely love this poem and what a wonderful tribute to Mozart!

"Inky equations - set to note - with each perfect - quill stroke" - What a fantastic beginning!

"we have your graceful music - playing still - as was your will - when you placed heaven - upon the page - with quill." - A priceless ending. Love the flow of the whole poem and think it was a rather genius idea!

~excellent~
