Could It Be

Could It Be

A Poem by Siddartha Beth Pierce

Could it be you are the One

that I have been waiting on

A mind like a steel trap

Quips and snips

that make me laugh

A lover true with

decadence

that makes me feel

in tune to the

primordial ooze

that birthed us here

With you I have no fear

only elation, concentration

Submitting to each other

back and forth

is this Love

what's it worth

the joining of two souls

in unison

the making of a bond

the kinship is so real

I feel

closer to you

than any other I have known

Could it be you are the One

that I have been waiting on?

'In tune to the primordial ooze"

Now that is a phrase that makes me smile, a phrase that creates a lasting image as unique as a fingerprint, a phrase that utterly delights and lifts the spirit as only an artisan skilled can execute and render with effortless grace. Oh, and any poem that has the word 'decadence' in it is near and dear to my heart. :-)

"With you I have no fear"

What a wonderful way to express the emotion of one kindred soul to another, hand in hand, eyes as one, heart in tune, and fingers sweaty with anticipation. Excellent job!

Absolutely it could! Feelings like this don't come in a cornflakes packet. You have such a true soul and wonderful spirit that shines in your writing. You were glowing when you wrote this...I hope that is still the case? Stunning work...kudos and congrats for a well-written piece of literature.

I could quip along and rip a song out of tune like a loon to save you
If you could equate your elate to a date well equipped to escape you
serious fun in the sun and melted pastels make of thee perfume to sweat me
I'll read this poem again and again as long as we're friends and you'll let me!

Whew! jolly good fun Love!

The "primordial ooze" comment is great. This really a wonderful thought, it has passion but its not dripping with it. It has hope but is not whinny at all. It is direct but still has softness.

Very nice!
