real

real

A Poem by S.T.

Too much to say
Too much to do
That's what you say to keep them from knowing the real you
You hide yourself like you're in a war
Nothing less nothing more.
Afraid of life
More so the judge
You have been hurt so you keep closed off
You may seem cold, but really you're soft.
Just afraid of what theirs not.
To hide in the shadow, the bitter cold
To feel like putting your life on hold.
You just keep smiling through the pain
They just keep lying to keep you sane.
You might not notice, but those who surround you aren't their to wound you.
They're ready to catch when you take the jump.
Ready to lift you up when you fall.
Although you might not feel very tall, the world isn't out to get you.
So you slowly put on your coat, step out of the rain
Let your emotions cry down the drain.
You're human, remember that, the hurt will end but for now

don't be afraid to talk out loud.
