Mom

Mom

A Poem by Enigma
"

This is, I guess, what every teenager wants to say to her/his mom. After all, she's the BEST!!

"

You know that I love you

Don't you, mom?

I will always care for you

For many days to come

You know that I respect you

You know that I care

But why can't you understand

The feeling behind my stares

I'm growing up, you know it

I need a space of my own

I need to prove that I'm somebody

I need to create my home

I easily get angry

As I'm not fully mature

I say words I never meant to say

They hurt you, rather than cure

You misunderstand me, time and again

As I try to tell you why

Suddenly I feel so alone in this world

Will you still hold me when I cry?

I just want you to know

That I need some space

There are many obstacles

For me, alone, to face

So rather than treating me as a child

Or making me a full adult

For the time being, just let me be

I'll take care of my troubles

And I'll be assured that

When my life's a sad song

There'll be someone I can count on

To hold me up and make me strong

None but you...

MY DEAREST MOM!!!

When a love is as strong as the love you have for your Mom, there is no disaster rhyme. Cherish the love and care she gives you because one day you'll be in her shoes and your child will be feeling as you do. Most parents try to protect their children and want to help them avoid the mistakes they made - but we all need to learn by experience. You are wise enough to realise this in your poem and say so to your Mom - but you are also wise enough to know that you may stumble and fall at times and she will be there to catch you.
Show you Mom this poem and she will be so proud of you as it shows more than anything else that while you are growing up, and learning to fly - you will always want your mom.

Well done I think your Mom has a daughter to be proud of.

It is hard for Moms and dads to realise that you are growing up much faster than they care to admit
ometimes we can discard a rhyme pattern to emphasise a point

there's nothing like a mum or mom as u say it... i also treasure my mum because we don't know how patient & how unconditional their love is till we get older or become parents ourselves... let her share her wisdom with you, even if you don't follow it.. she deserves that from you. I love your writing....
