Old Familiar High

Old Familiar High

A Poem by Sarah Morgan

I suffocate

Was I too late?

When you left I fell to the floor

Now I begin to disintegrate

Longing for you to captivate me once more

I'm running out of time

I need to lose this pain or i'll lose my mind

(course)

And I..

Breakdown

The anger is taking me over now x1repeat

I try to hide, I try to fight, but i'm blinded by the lights

Can't quit my addictions, but I want to

I wanted you to stay , I wanted you

Old habits die hard

Never did I want us to part

You stook around for me untill you got fed up

I wish you'd understand I need you now more than ever love

(course)

And I..

Breakdown x1repeat

The anger is taking me over now xrepeat

I try to hide, I try to fight, but i'm blinded by the lights

Can't quit my addictions

I want to say goodbye to the old familiar high

I want to say goodbye, but not goodbye to you

I want you to stay, I want you to stay

It is very hard to say good-bye to our addictions whether it be to drugs, people, food, whatever. YOu've captured this very well in this poem.

'I'm running out of time

I need to lose this pain or i'll lose my mind'

I can really relate to those lines. Sometimes the pain gets so intense, you can't help but think insanity is just around the corner.

A great write!
