My heart held its breath

My heart held its breath

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Those moments of inexpressible exuberance
Are best left, stranded below the low-water mark
Until the right moment
When the buoyancy of life's tides
Can offer suitable depth
To a heart not meant
To float alone.

This write speaks to me as thoughts that need to be meditated on until it reaches the heart until it is ready and filled to spill out from the overflow.

This is so powerful, for so few words. It's admirable the way it's just one cohesive sentence, really, but expressing a very complete & complex situation. I think just about every single word is fresh & not drawn from over-used imagery or emoting. Ah, to be able to craft an analogy so succinct & thorough! Great job!

I love how romantic this piece is
yet brief
like the nature of love

There aren't many hearts that can float alone. Nicely stated.

Nice expressions. I prefer the last two lines.

This is quite profound in it's simplicity. It feels like a message of "be patient" you won't float alone forever.
Really nicely done :)
