A misty sunrise

A misty sunrise

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I need to get away, I told the angry sea

The sun, agreed, yesterday,

But this morning, your kisses swam

Through the first rebellious rays

Coaxing me to stay

Before I’m taken by the tides

Of forgetfulness.

My watery eyes remembered your smile

And paused, for what felt like an hour,

Kidnapped in a time-capsule,

Until the cacophony of dissonant cymbals

Woke me from my nostalgic stupor -

The fog horn, like an angry sheep dog,

Warning me, again,

To get into the pen

Because the wolf is near.

So I turned my back on you

And continued to row

Into the stormy unknown

Of my future peace of mind.

I am caught in a vision of escape from a painful relationship to the foggy mist of the coast at morn, cloaking reality as we search for our safe place. The mind and love places tricks on us all the time.

You give up on love
Only to come back even harder than before

No doubt
Love wins :)

Possibly.

Or maybe he just misses her too.

That's sweet
If he misses her she misses him
