Fighting For?

Fighting For?

A Story by Evan Scott
"

What do you fight for?

"

What was he fighting for?

The man had nothing to give, nothing to offer.

a bum, a bum outside a bar in the slums of Jersey.

The man had nothing to his name.

A man like that can’t be content.

A man like that can’t have any reason

A man like that can't have any will whatsoever.

He has nothing to fight for.

But that glimpse in his eye,

and the fire in his step,

I envy it.

.

He had something to fight for.

I want something,

I want something to fight for.

I agree Evan.
"He had something to fight for.
I want something,
I want something to fight for. "
I liked the story in the poem and the above lines. We need something to keep us going forward. No dreams, no hope. We must fight for what we believe in. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Poverty and richness in unexpected places.

Well penned. I like the use of repetition. Are you open to suggestions?
