It

A Poem by Andromeda

She feels it like

The promise of a kiss on a cool autumn day—

Romance just

            A whisper away.

She feels it and she knows

That for once he’s home to stay—

Home to stay just like

            Tomorrow she’ll pray.

But for today—

Oh, God, for today just let him stay.

She feels it like

The snarl of the wind at the back of her neck—

A splinter from

            A coming wreck.

She feels it and she knows

That for once he’s gone to stay—

Gone to stay:

He won’t come back again—

No more shadow on her heart’s doors and

No more prayers of

Oh, God, for today just let him stay.

She feels it like

The promise of a kiss on a cool autumn day—

True romance just

            A whisper away.

you have a way of creatin a scene, an emotion and a story in so few words. the title is obscure, and i can see how it can be related tot he poem, but with a title like 'it', it could be related to anything.

but this poem is beautiful.

I like the title. It caught my attention, and made me wonder what the poem was about. This is sad, but I like it a lot. The way you present the story is wonderful.
