Thirteen

Thirteen

A Poem by Andromeda
"

Inspired by TFK's "Wish You Well". Seriously, TFK=amazing to write to.

"

We were thirteen when

You decided

Our love would never end.

We were thirteen when

You tied

Roses in my hair

And promised me

We’d live our lives together

Without a care.

We were twenty-three when

You called it to an end,

When you said

These wounds—they’d never

Mend.

What wounds have we

But the

Scabs

From the thorns of

The roses

You tied in my hair

When we were thirteen

And our love would never

End?

I like the way you tied them back with the wound from the roses. It's like a sort of mirror poem. I like.
