But a Fragment
By: Adam M. Snow

What is this picture, but a fragment
of life's shattered dream?
Being the lost that I am,
seeking a lifeless gleam.

T'was a night among nights,
arose the thoughts of me;
a vision appeared before my being,
drowning out the sea.

Wow. I am never quite sure of the meaning in most poems, but that's what makes it more magical and epic. It's personal yet full of connected wisdom. Your writing style is flawless and this is such a clear image in my mind. Soothing, searching, wandering...I'd give it a standing ovation. Well written, friend.

Hope to read your prose when I get more time. You seem to be full of thought and express it well. Please do more poems as I have A.D.D., lol. -Joke- time pressures...and there is so much inspiration out there. I just got inspired by your using a picture to write to and will browse images in Google now for the right one.
Thank-you!

Greg :-)

ohhhh, this poem is short, but captivating and dark. Hope that the fragment was just that, a fluttered thought that came and went. The imagery puts me right. Good work, dark but good.

Thank you
It sounds romantic, like something at the start of the era of Romanticism.

Short yet deep and well described... "Being the lost that I am, seeking a lifeless gleam." Simply elegant. Love it.
