Ugly Uganda

Ugly Uganda

A Poem by ThomasHinyard

hatred heavily haunts homosexuals

who live in the country's flares.

the film rolled and it became too late

for one.

the savages struck his face

bloodied skin

tossed tires at his skull

taunted because he loved me.

they punched and kicked this humanity

down to the dust

swirls spinning as if hell was opening.

drizzling gasoline slimed his body

concealed him in cardboard and wood

lit matches

burned him alive in the streets

among celebratory chants

affirming death.

no good samaritan put out his fire

while this cremation is praised.

they stand around the flaming f****t

rejoicing their work as social missionaries

while jesus watches from afar and weeps.
