WHO'S PERFECT?

WHO'S PERFECT?

A Poem by Solitaireman
"

I originally conceived this poem while I was watching a film about racial segregation in my junior high school English class. My dream is to see this poem published in every known language.

"

You should see this world through the blind man's eyes

Then attempt to listen with a deaf one's ear

You'll notice there's no one you must despise

Nor anybody you should truly fear

Why base one's worth on the hue of their skin?

Or, the spelling of their family name?

How they practice the doctrines of their religion?

Underneath, ain't we people just the same?

Hatred's not something that's inbred

To me, the practice appears freely taught

It's not in a person's heart nor their head

This problem's a real Gordian Knot!

We are members of the same human race

Please look beyond another's national creed

Let's show a little of God's Loving Grace

and not so much of man's selfish greed!

Very well said and put together, welcome to Writers Cafe. I'll tell you something I heard and you can look into it yourself and find out if I'm right or not. A publishing company will not accept poems already published. I hope I'm wrong because this poem is important and meaningful in a way those people in different countries should here.

Perfect? Not I.

Hi, Dear Poet … Richard Jenkins here,

I would like to first give a big welcome, then to express how very much I enjoyed, not only the message of your wonderful poem, but the form and skill with which you composed it.
The rhymes spot-on, a flow nice and smooth, cadence and line counts that make for an ease of enjoyable read, this one should go far, and I can only imagine how widely it could one day be acclaimed.

Thank you for sharing the openness and goodness of your heart, as well as your understandings.
Blessings to you, Sir! ~ Richard
