Trying to Forget

Trying to Forget

A Poem by Soma-ko
"

Love ones can't be shaken off easily.

"

Dark clouds loom over my head,

While deep sympathy fills me with dread.

A step at a time is what I take,

Gravity seems to weigh my soul down with hate.

She left me last night, or was it the night before?

I've been drinking so much, I don’t know any more.

A step at a time is what I take,

Ruminations of the past begin to slowly precipitate.

A breeze conjures a shiver, and my hair stands up.

I let loose a sigh, and tilt my head up.

Gazing at the moon I begin to cry,

Memories of her, I can’t seem to deny.
