Ghosts of Time

Ghosts of Time

A Poem by SonOfPlunder
"

Wrote this for a friend.

"
Silver shadows line the halls
these ghostly figures loom
listen to their unearthly calls,
the anguish of their doom

Specters made of pale moon light
they linger in the dark
their anger will only fuel their might
and pierce your mortal heart

For time has forsaken them all,
the forgotten and the damned,
and if you hear their ghostly call
you will perish by their hands

The fallen ones they want respite,
their malice knows no bounds,
they will grasp your soul, still you with fright
and scorch these fertile lands

Time will never threaten them,
these children of the dark
their sacrifice has bound them,
to the darkness in your heart

Hey there! I loved reading your poem, the pacing and rhyme was maintained quite well, all the way through to the end; so good job. The poem kind of left me wanting to know more about these facinating ghostly specters, as they weren't really described in detail that much (That was probably your intention) I definitely wouldn't mind reading a second poem telling more of these dark creatures. Thanks for sharing.

This is a great horror poem that embodies the heart of the genre. The theme is consistent and the diction accurate. The rhythm in the 3rd paragraph first two lines made me stumble. 4th paragraph--bounds and lands don't rhyme unless that was your intent. Hands and damned don't really rhyme either but that's just me nit picking.

Overall, despite my critique, this is a really nice job. 100/100

I have to say you have a wonderful knack for poetry, sir. Your comfort in this genre shows. You take the ABAB style and use it to your advantage. Excellent flow and word choices.
